Seema Verma is an American healthcare policy consultant and government official. She served as the Administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) under President Donald Trump from 2017 to 2021.
During her time at CMS, Verma focused on policies related to Medicare and Medicaid, aiming to reform and modernize the healthcare system. Some key areas of focus included value-based care, reducing regulatory burdens, and addressing the opioid crisis. She also oversaw the implementation of policies related to the Affordable%20Care%20Act (ACA).
Before joining CMS, Verma was the founder and CEO of SVC, Inc., a health policy consulting firm. She has worked with various states on healthcare reform initiatives, including the design and implementation of Medicaid expansion programs.
